CELEBRATE ART WITH US!
Lord Beaverbrook Day
at The Beaverbrook Art Gallery

Free admission all day
Guided tours at 11 am, 12 noon and 1 pm
10 am – 1 pm Paint! Sculpt! Play! Express yourself in clay, pastels, paint
10 am Face painting
11 am Storytelling
11 am Cake and punch on the front lawn
12 noon sing and dance with musician Darrell Grant
 
ART for TOTS
Fun and engaging creative art sessions for young children*!!!!

WHERE:     Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Downtown Fredericton

These hands-on sessions  for the very young (ages 2 – 4)  will engage your child in the discovery of art and 'having-a-go' at art making,  storytelling and creating art to music. A combination of Gallery Tour and Gallery Art Studio experiences will be offered using The Reggio Approach in this unique learning opportunity.

Artistica Summer art camps 2010
Programs for kids ages 5 - 12 who like adventures in art!

At the Gallery’s week-long art camps, kids will learn about famous artists and exhibitions explore new techniques and media create their own masterpieces
All materials provided! Your week-long adventure includes art-making, gallery visits, lunch time outings to see the Calithumpians and games on the Green.

Dress for mess and fun! Non-marking indoor shoes recommended.
Camps are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. For late pick-ups there is a daily $5 charge. Campers need lunch and two snacks, drinks, sunscreen and sunhat.
 
Prices:
5 day camp $140 for non-members or $125 for members
4 day camp $115 for non-members or $100 for members

Adventures in Art
With Kimberley Herron

We will play and engage in explorations in drawing, painting, sculpture and printing, with inspiration from the art on display and our wild imagination.
 
 
July 5 – 9
ages 7 and 8
Art Studio
From drawing to printing, collage to sculpture and mixed media to assemblage, we’ll try our hand at pretty much all media in our studio.

Painting still life, nature, portraits and cityscapes in a variety of media on all kinds of surfaces.

PAINTING FRENZY
With Peter Gorham

Painting on paper, canvas, plexiglass, cardboard and wood, in tempera, watercolor and acrylics, with inspiration from the Wolastuk exhibition.

August 3 – 6

Sculpture by addition or subtraction, modeling and creating 3d characters to populate our dioramas and imaginary landscapes.

Sensational Sculpture
Designing and creating sculptures and assemblages in clay, soap, wood, plexiglass and wax.

August 23- 27
ages 5 and 6
Super Sculptures

With Alexandra Winchester
Sculpting and modeling with clay, plasticine, plaster, found objects and papier mache, we will create 3D masterpieces and functional objects.
 
 
A DAY AT THE ART CAMP

* Dear Parents: please pick up your children between 4:15 pm and 4:30 pm at the latest. Late pick-up charges of $5/child/day apply after 4:30 pm.

All our art instructors and camp supervisors are experienced educators who encourage creativity, self-expression and development in the arts.
 
Your children will have the opportunity to create original art in a friendly, respectful environment where they are at the centre of the learning process.
 
All our staff are certified to provide first aid and CPR and to adapt to your children’s learning style and needs.
 
We welcome your suggestions and comments about art camp and we hope your child will treasure the art experiences and the friends they make here.

2010 MARCH BREAK CAMPS

Programs for kids ages 5-12 who like adventures in art! Kids will explore their artistic potential through guided hands-on studio discoveries.
 
At the gallery’s day-long art camps, kids will:
• learn about famous artists
• explore new techniques and media
• create their own masterpieces
ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED
Your day-long adventure includes
art making, storytelling,
gallery visit, and lots more.
• Dress for mess and fun!
• All day camps are 8:30-4:30.
Campers need lunch and two snacks,
drinks, painting smock and indoor shoes.
• IMPORTANT! Parents are kindly asked to
pick up campers by 4:30. A charge of $5
applies for all late pick-ups.
• Maximum enrollment per class: 16
• Minimum enrollment per class: 10
 
Price is $35 for non-members
$30 for members
Please note that refunds are possible only with a 48 hour cancellation.

Adventures in Sketching
Get inspired by works found on the gallery walls. Use different drawing mediums to create your own masterpiece.


Tuesday March 2 ages 5-12 (Canceled Due to Construction)
Sculpture
Pinch, pull, bend and form your own 3D creations out of wire and clay.


Wednesday March 3 ages 5-12
Portraits
Draw, paint, collage. Learn the basics of portraiture and then create your own with whatever medium you prefer.
Thursday March 4 ages 5-12
Mixed Media Painting
Drift away with the music. Create a
conceptual painting while following
the rhythm of music. Use a variety of mediums.
 
Friday March 5 ages 5-12
Passion for Printmaking
Learn to draw, transfer, and print your own image/design with ink and paint
 
 
 
 
Saturday Morning Painting Explorations
