Exhibition Opening – You’re Invited!

Join us for the official reception to mark the opening of the newest exhibitions, Marlene Creates: Places, Paths, and Pauses and Oscar Cahén.

Sept 23: 5- 7pm. Event is free and open to the public.


Scotiabank Artist Residency Program

Sept 24-29: Marlene Creates is this year’s Artist in Residence; join us for the panel discussion (Sept. 24), artist talk (Sept. 28), and afternoon drop-in opportunities to chat with the artist September 25th through 29th. Click here for the full schedule.


Family Art Classes: SECOND & LAST Sunday of each month, 2:00- 4:00 PM- Join teacher and artist Roberte Melanson for a family adventure in various art techniques and styles. All materials are provided. Admission is free for members, $5 per person or $15 for a family of 4. 

Sept 24: Lynn Chadwick: Looking at sculpture


Panel Discussion: Retrospective? The paths we have trodden/the paths we still pursue.

Marlene Creates, artist; Susan Gibson Garvey, co-curator of the exhibition; Andrea Kunard, co-curator of the exhibition; Joan M. Schwartz, a contributing writer to the exhibition publication; Terry Graff, Beaverbrook Art Gallery outgoing Director and CEO (2013-2017). Part of the Scotiabank Artist Residency Program.


Thursday night art class: Thursday, 7:00- 9:00pm. Instructor in September: Marcus Kingston. All skill levels are welcome, ages 16+; please call ahead to register. Cost is free for members, $15 per session for non-members; materials are included.

Sept 28: Visual artist and instructor Marcus Kingston will introduce students to the wonders and excitement of sketching urban landscapes as well as pastoral and historic settings. Students will work on sketching techniques to create beautiful renderings of popular buildings and naturalistic scenes.


Artist Talk: Marlene Creates

Sept 28: 7pm. Marlene Creates leads visitors in an exploration of her exhibition Places, Paths and Pauses. Part of the Scotiabank Artist Residency Program.


Art for Tots: Fridays from 10:00- 10:45am - Children ages 2-5 and their parents participate in fun art games, hands-on activities, and storytelling. Cost is free for members, $10 per session for non-members; materials are included.

Sept 29: Mobile sculptures


Artist Workshop: Marlene Creates

Sept 30: 10am-12pm. Join Marlene Creates as she works with the public during her artist residency in Making Memory Maps. Part of the Scotiabank Artist Residency Program. Free workshop, materials included. **Registration required. Please call 458-2028 to register; maximum 15 participants.
