Remembering Fred Ross

The board of governors and staff of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery join the New Brunswick community and the Canadian art world in expressing deep sadness over the death of acclaimed painter Fred Ross. Director/CEO and chief curator Terry Graff states: "We send our condolences to Fred’s family and many friends. This is a tremendous loss for New Brunswick, Canada’s cultural community, and society at large. We at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery were very fortunate to have shared a very special association and friendship with Fred over many years, and had the privilege of presenting his remarkable work and celebrating his impressive career. A contemporary of Jack Humphrey and Miller Brittain, Fred was one of New Brunswick’s greatest figurative painters, and he has left an extraordinary legacy."
