What we see
Describe these two paintings. What time of year is it? What is the weather like? How do you know?
How we feel
Would you like to go for a walk here? What would you see as you walked across these fields? What type of boats would you see on the river? What would your painting of a river look like?
What we think
If you looked out a window at a river which painting more closely resembles what you would see? Why is that?
How it was made
In both paintings the artist shows things close to the viewer and far away. This is called perspective. What does an artist do to show us that something is a long way away?
