What we see

What do you notice about these two works that are the same? What do you notice that is different? How would you describe the expressions on their faces?

How we feel

Does one man seem more real to you than another? What makes you feel that way?

What we think

What do you think these men would say if they could talk?

How it was made

Guy Duguay used unusual colours for his portrait. What would you think if Anthony Flower painted his portrait with these types of colours? Why did he not?

About the artist

Guy Duguay (1955 – 1996) graduated from the l'Universite de Moncton and was a prolific artist before he died at a young age. Although he is well known in New Brunswick most of his work has never been seen by the public. You will always see an element of surprise in his work and a sense of drama.
